Connections Dalziel & Pascoe Part One

Dalziel and Pascoe was first broadcast on March 16th, 1996. It starred Warren Clarke and Colin Buchanan as two detectives working in fictional town Wetherton, solving crimes as they went. There were 11 seasons of the show, running until 22nd June 2007. It was a great crime drama series which starred a multitude of familiar faces from the world of Torchwood and Who – Classic and Nu.

In Season 10, 'A Death in the Family' was broadcast from 10th April 2006 - 11th April 2006. Security Guard Dave Compton is murdered in a high stakes, high reward transit depot robbery, in which thieves get away with £600,000. Dalziel and Pascoe are shaken by the death as the security guard had once been a detective sergeant on the force. Meanwhile, a businessman called Steve Pitt is savagely slashed to death with a knife in the kitchen of his restaurant. There are many suspects for the killing, one of which was a character played by Burn Gorman.

He looked exceptionally younger than his role in Torchwood, so I wondered if perhaps the episode had been produced earlier that year. Although, given we’ve followed his career throughout his tenure with Torchwood, and beyond, that we forget just how young each of them were when they first began in the Hub.

So, as per, we’ve done the research, so you don’t have to. This understandably is a large crew of people to work through, so once again it’s been split into portions.

Enjoy!
