News Is This Another Sontaran Invasion?

Toshiko! TOSHIKO WHAT DATE IS IT TODAY? A distant voice calls back from a workstation outside of the office with the actual date - 30th July 2014
That’s what I thought, so this is NOT an April fool’s joke.  Leans back in the easy chair and reviews the print out, picking over the words to find some form of trickery.   What is this government thinking of?

Driverless cars will start appearing on British roads next year.......The Government wants to change the rules to allow companies to start running trials of cars that do not need a human driver on UK streets.......means the first computer-controlled vehicles will be seen on quiet British streets by January next year.'

Do they not recall what happened the last time these were installed?

Toshiko, check into UNIT files and see if there’s any truth in this news article.  Could still be a hoax, there’s been a lot of those of late.  Who’d have known the cast of TOWIE were linked to an alien life form discovered at the bottom of a garden pond on the East coast of England. Glad we were able to contain that before it spread.

Ianto check out the reporter of this article and see what he knows.  Owen, Gwen with me, we need to locate this car and bring it back here for analysis.  I don’t like the idea of driverless cars, I mean sure, hands free, gives me more time to check out the cute guy in the passenger seat, Ianto rolls his eyes ...and lower the seats for that comfortable ‘ride’....but I’m just not buying it...there’s something going on.

Ianto while you’re at it, run a check on who is in charge up at Downing Street, let’s be absolutely sure we’re not infested with Slitheen again.  If so, we’re going to require vats of vinegar.

I have a feeling we’ve not heard the last of the Sontaran.  Keep a watchful eye on the skies, and tighter control of our vehicles.  Atmos systems took control once and look how that turned out.  We can’t allow that to happen again.

Hoax or truth - you decide!  And how far could we really trust a machine to work correctly and safely and not behave in the same way as the Atmos systems did in The Sontaran Stratagem and The Poison Sky? (this has just been a bit of humour, taken from today's news, but it does make you think).
