News Happy Birthday Lyn Carol

Happy Birthday Lyn

Did you know that on this day in 1966, Episode 1 of The Massacre of St Bartholomew’s Eve, Season 3 was broadcast, starring William Hartnell and companions Peter Purves and Jackie Lane.  It was written by John Lucarotti and Donald Tosh, and directed by Paddy Russell.

It was 1572 and the eve of the Catholic plan to kill all French protestants.  Companion Steve is horrified when he discovers that the Abbot is the spitting image of the Doctor.

Also on this day in 1972, Episode 2 of The Curse of Peladon, Season 9 was broadcast.  It starred Jon Pertwee as the Doctor with Katy Manning, Nicholas Courtney, John Levene and Richard Franklin as companions, and featured David Troughton as Peladon.  Writer was Louis Marks, Director was Paul Bernard, and music was by Dudley Simpson.

While Daleks control the 22nd Century, a group of freedom fighters are teleported back in time to prevent World War 3.

In 1977 on this day, Episode 2 of The Robots of Death, Season 14 was broadcast.  It starred Tom Baker as the Doctor with companion Louise Jameson as Leela.  It was written by Chris Boucher, Director was Michael Briant and music by Dudley Simpson.

Onboard the Sandminer, the crew are being killed off by their own servants. (why does that sound familiar?)

Although you don’t celebrate your birthday with any Torchwood or Who cast or crew that we’ve managed to find, you do celebrate your birthday with a few other tv and film celebrities, two of which are Peter Pan actor, Jeremy Sumpter who is 25 today, and Martin Sheen 45 today, he played Tony Blair to Helen Mirren’s Queen Elizabeth II.

Enjoy the rest of your birthday
